MESSAGE FROM TODD
Have you seen the movie "The Bucket List" yet? It is a great movie with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. In the movie, these two guys get to experience all the things on their "bucket list"- the things they always wanted to do in their lifetime before they "kick the bucket". Do you have a bucket list? What do you want to do in your lifetime?
One of the things that was always on my "bucket list" was to attend the Super Bowl. That was accomplished last week when I was in attendance for the New York Giants stunning upset of the heavily favored New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII. It was great to be part of the Super Bowl experience and get to see first-hand all the hubbub that goes along with the world's largest sporting spectacle. I hope to go back next year when one of my athletes is playing in it! A great time though and I was humbled to have the opportunity to attend such an unbelievable event.
Another thing on my "bucket list" was to someday have a baby girl. I'm excited to say that it's finally going to come true in exactly four weeks (March 10). My wife Melanie is doing well but definitely getting ready to deliver. I don't know if she will even make it to the 10th but our little girl is coming... stay tuned for more details!
Last but not least, I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day on Thursday. Here's to cupid hitting you with one of his arrows and infecting you with some extra love and compassion!
Create a great day!

Randy Hetrick is the creator of the TRX Suspension Trainer and founder of Fitness Anywhere, Inc. one of the fastest growing companies in sports and fitness. As an inventor, entrepreneur and former commando, Randy's professional experience spans a broad range of domains in both the public and private sector. His company produces some of the industry's most innovative physical training products and exercise programs and is bringing new definition to the application of bodyweight-based functional fitness. Fitness Anywhere is changing the way that thousands of soldiers train for combat, athletes train for sport and regular people of all ages and abilities train for life.
After graduating from USC in 1987 with a BA in History, Randy spent the next 14 years leading Navy commandos around the globe. His operational career culminated as a Squadron Commander of the SEAL's elite special missions unit. In addition to a range of tactical leadership positions, Randy's Navy career included several other formative entrepreneurial opportunities. He founded an R&D division responsible for rapid development of specialized gear for emergent missions; earned an MA in National Security Affairs from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey; and served on Capitol Hill as the principal lobbyist for the Special Operations Command, representing a $3.5B portfolio in program funding. In 2001, Randy completed his military service and was accepted to Stanford University's Graduate School of Business where he earned an MBA.
As a lifelong athlete and career commando, intense physical challenge has been an essential component of Randy's life. After graduating from Stanford in 2003 (at 36 years old, the grand-daddy of his MBA Class), he merged his twin passions for fitness and entrepreneurship into a career and founded his company, Fitness Anywhere, Inc.
Fitness Anywhere designs and sells premium quality physical training equipment and exercise programs into several large segments of the wellness industry, including: commercial health club, sports performance and military fitness. During its first three years the company's cumulative revenues grew by 4,400%, and attracted an accomplished team of more than 40 members from a diverse range of industry backgrounds. In addition to its growing base of general fitness consumers, Fitness Anywhere serves top teams in every major professional sport and equips combat units in each branch of the U.S. Military.
TODD RECOMMENDS
The TRX - If you are looking for a highly effective, inexpensive, and simple tool to work out on at home or at the gym, check out the TRX. I use it with all of my clients and it is awesome. It involves "Suspension Training" and therefore is not only great for building muscle strength, but also positively affects the core and stabilizing muscles of the body. I often will do a quick 20 minute routine when short on time just on the TRX or I'll infuse it as part of my overall workout. They did a great job with the educational support material and their product has withstood the test of time. I highly recommend it as one of my top pieces of "equipment" used.

GUEST ARTICLE: STRENGTH TRAINING TO THE CORE
By Anna Renderer
Today, the fitness industry is continually making advancements and gaining popularity due to long term research studies, medical breakthroughs, competitiveness in professional sports, longevity of the average life, etc.
The practice of strength training has been around since the beginning of time, dating back to at least the 6th century BC, when legend has it that wrestler Milo of Croton trained by carrying a newborn calf on his back every day until the calf was fully grown. In the 1980s, movies like Pumping Iron and celebrities like Arnold Schwarzenegger gained the public's interest even more. Today, the focus of strength training has moved towards improving function and performance versus just getting bigger and stronger. Instead of focusing on the chest and bicep muscles, the emphasis is now on strengthening the back and abdominals, frequently referred to as "the core." This shift in focus has increasingly gained popularity, especially among yoga and Pilates enthusiasts.
Strength training is frequently mistaken as heavy lifting, dangerous, and unappealing to beginners. Often times it is associated with bodybuilding, weightlifting, powerlifting, and strongman fitness. However...

ATHLETE CORNER: CREATINE & YOUNG ATHLETES - YES OR NO?
By Brett Klika
As performance-enhancing supplements are making their way to the forefront of athletic news, I am often asked, by parents and athletes alike, about the safety and effectiveness of creatine supplementation. In communicating with these individuals, I have found many misnomers, incorrect assumptions, and just plain bad information in regards to creatine and sports supplements in general. When considering creatine, it's important to understand what it is, what it does, and what "supplementation" is supposed to do.
