The BEST of the SUMMMER

“Summertime is always the BEST of what might be.”  Charles Bowden

Well, here it is the “end of Summer,” or at least the traditional end with Labor Day weekend coming up next week, and most schools are getting in full swing (or soon will be!).

When I saw this quote it encouraged me to look back a bit at this SUMMER of 2015 and remember the “BEST of times…”

I like the possibility and “free-wheeling” message of this quote by Bowden … SUMMER is the time to venture out and do things that we do not typically do during the FALL, WINTER and SPRING…

SUMMER is a season where we can be more spontaneous, get outside more, and enjoy longer days.

Summer-time encourages us to PLAY MORE and include more ADVENTURE on all levels.

“SUMMER” will serve as our WOW this week because it’s our last chance to enjoy this special season.

So I ask you… “What was the BEST part of your SUMMER 2015?”

Maybe you took a great vacation…

Maybe you tried a new activity– kayaking, paddle-boarding, white-water rafting, fishing…

Maybe you took up golf or tennis…

Maybe you entered a 5K, 10K, an “extreme” event, or you simply entered an “event” of any kind to just have FUN with it…

Maybe you completed some work on your home, a remodel or new windows… or you built your dream office. 🙂

Maybe you went to a new park with your kids that you have never been…

Maybe you started your kids in swim lessons…

Maybe you finally purchased that new gas grill you have been wanting…

Maybe you spent more time in the pool…

Maybe you completed something on your bucket list…

Maybe you took a nap or two on the weekends…

I can go on forever here, but the point is appreciating SUMMER for the special time it is and embracing that time is so important…

So yes, when I look back the summer of 2015, it was the BEST of what might be …

For me, it included fun things like:

1. A trip to Telluride, CO, with Brady & McKenna for “WOW” festival. Kids and I LOVED exploring Telluride!
2. Hopped over to Denver & Vail, CO and met Melanie & Luke, who had a lax tourney there. #LaxHeaven
3. White-water rafting outside Beaver Creek. That was awesome—despite my phone eating water and dying!
4. Teaching on the “big” stage with my wife Melanie at IDEA. #Memorable
5. Beach workouts with my NFL guys and getting in some paddle-boarding right after.
6. Went to a couple Padres games with the family.
7. Having FQ10 staff & interns at the Perform Better conference for season “finale” workshop.
8. Pop Warner football for Luke & Brady. And getting the opportunity now to coach Luke.
9. Trip to Aquatica water-park with kids for “Adventure” Day.
10. Attended a great wedding in the wine country (Anna Renderer & Vito LaFata) and took some time exploring the area.

How about you? What were your highlights?

And then realize this as summer comes to a close…

Let’s NOT wait until next summer to continue building adventure and FUN into your life. You rarely regret adventure and “play” and it always produces the BEST MEMORIES.

Much love… and much “summer-time” spirit.

Todd

P.S. This is a great week to get in your last “SUMMER-TIME” adventure before LABOR DAY next week.

What can you do THIS WEEK that you wanted to do all summer and kept putting off….?

Now go do it!!!
