Dynamic Warm-Up CEC Course

Twenty-five of the most up-to-date warm-up techniques to improve flexibility, prevent injury, reinforce proper speed movement and mechanics, elevate tissue temperature, activate the nervous system and prepare your athlete’s body for superior sport performance. The dynamic warm-up sets the tone for a great workout or competition and can also be used as a stand-alone conditioning routine. Course Objectives:

  • Describe the purpose and benefits of a dynamic warm-up.
  • Outline the program components of an effective dynamic warm-up.
  • Differentiate the two types of dynamic warm-up drills: moving drills and stationary drills.
  • Identify the target muscle(s) or muscle group(s) for each drill.
  • Perform the dynamic warm-up drills following the cues provided on the course DVD.
  • Design a 10-minute practice dynamic warm-up using the suggested program design guidelines.
  • Demonstrate and teach a dynamic warm-up to a client, friend, or family member using cues and smooth transitions.
